PlasmaGun System: Water Control Options
National Alloy Solutions PlasmaGun Systems requires one of the following:
- Water Flow Switch Kit: FS-100
- Water Control System: WCS-300
- Booster Pump Assembly: BP-300
- Refrigerated Heat Exchangers: HE-Series
Descriptions are below of each option.
Water Flow Switch Kit FS-100 The Water Flow Switch Kit FS-100 monitors and controls the water that is used that to cool the PlasmaGun system. It holds inside a screen type filter, a solenoid valve pressure gauge and a water flow switch that stops the system if the water falls below the preset level.
Water Control System WCS-300 The Water Control System WCS-300 monitors and controls the water that is used that to cool the PlasmaGun system. It holds inside a screen type filter, a solenoid valve a pressure gauge and a water flow switch that stops the system if the water falls below the preset level. The Water Control System WCS-300 also contains a GPM flow indicator that inform the actual reading to be observed all the time along with a thermometer.
Booster Pump Assembly BP-300 The Booster Pump Assembly BP-300 is a self-contained pumping unit that is compatible with any of our PlasmaGun systems. This integrated unit contains a high-pressure centrifugal pump that is very quiet, a screen type filter, solenoid shut-off valve, water flow switch and also a pressure gauge. This piece of equipment is required where low water pressure prevails, or when the PlasmaGun is used with cooling towers or other devices with insufficient pressure and flow.
Refrigerated Heat Exchangers HE-Series The Refrigerated HE-Series Heat Exchangers are in air cooled mobile packaged chillers that are made specifically for using the plasma thermal spray systems. There have been certain engineering modifications put into the packaged chillers made especially for National Alloy Solutions Thermal Spray Systems. The Heat Exchanger is very necessary when using water that is demineralized in a closed loop system because its required for cooling the PlasmaGun in areas where there is hard water supply, or when the water contains heavier deposits of minerals than usual. The Plasma systems operating without heat exchangers and utilizing water of poor quality can cause the minerals to precipitate out of the water depositing them on the insides of the PlasmaGun cooling passages. This reduces the heat transfer, which causes the gun to operate hotter than it should, which actually shortens the electrode and gun component life.
